Women’s Health Month WHEREAS, Women’s Health Month celebrates extraordinary progress in women’s health; and WHEREAS, the State of Florida recognizes that the unique needs of women at every stage of life should be addressed; and WHEREAS, research indicates that the need to address women’s health, increase awareness of women’s health issues, advocate access to advanced healthcare technologies for women, and encourage women to take actions that lead to better health; and WHEREAS, state and local partnerships are critical to promoting awareness of women’s health issues; and WHEREAS, women can prevent disease and illness by taking simple steps to improve their physical, mental, and social health; and WHEREAS women’s health remains a top priority for families, communities, and the government; Now, THEREFORE, I, Charlie Crist, Governor of the State of Florida, do hereby extend greetings and best wishes to all observing May 2009 as Women’s Health Month.
