What is it?
Women's Health Month encourages women to take simple steps for a longer, healthier, and happier life. During this month, the Florida Department of Health encourages families, communities, businesses, government, health organizations and other groups to work together to:

celebrate the extraordinary progress in women's health

bring attention to and create understanding of women's health issues
-
encourage women to get regular check-ups
-
educate women about steps they can take to improve their physical and mental health and prevent disease
When is it?
Florida Women's Health Month is celebrated during the month of May. The National Women's Health Week is an annual observance celebrated the week of Mother's Day. National Women's Check-Up Day is on Monday, May 11th.

Why is Women's Health Month important?
Women's Health Month is important because it is a time dedicated to improving the health and well-being of women in Florida. When women take even the simplest steps to improve their health, the results can be significant. Women's Health Month is a time to educate women about how they can lead healthy lifestyles and the importance of taking appropriate health actions based on individual background and risk factors.
