    • Breastfed babies and their moms who breastfeed them experience lasting health benefits. Providing a breastfeeding friendly atmosphere at your child care center can encourage moms to continue breastfeeding after returning to work or school. Complete the child care center self-assessment to find out if your child care center qualifies. If your center meets all six standards and has a breastfeeding policy, you may qualify to receive the Florida CCFP Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care Center designation.

  • Do You Know the Lub-Dub Song? - Tera Anderson, Training Specialist with the Florida Child Care Food Program and Georgia Murphy, Art Director, Florida Department of Health, wrote and illustrated respectively this children’s book to accompany A Dozen Ways to Be Healthy, Heart Healthy lesson plan. Lub-Dub introduces the importance of the heart and its basic functions. It encourages children to be physically active and make healthy food choices through colorful graphics and kid appropriate questions. Lub-Dub will be distributed to over 6,000 child care site participating in the Florida Child Care Food Program.
  • Food Buying Guide Calculator for Child Nutrition Programs - The National Food Service Management Institute (NFSMI) and Team Nutrition have developed an online calculator to be used with the USDA Food Buying Guide (FBG).  The interactive and simple to use calculator allows child care centers to build shopping lists of foods from the FBG and determine how much of each item to purchase to provide enough servings for the children participating in the CCFP.
